i Title Tag A/B Testing Tips

Front-Load Keywords

Place your most important keyword near the beginning of the title. Google gives slightly more weight to words that appear earlier, and users scan left-to-right in SERPs.

Use Power Words for CTR

Words like "best," "guide," "free," "proven," and "how to" can increase click-through rates by 10-20%. But use them honestly — misleading titles increase bounce rate, which hurts rankings.

Test Emotional Angles

Titles with moderate emotional sentiment (curiosity, urgency, value) outperform neutral titles. Compare a factual title against one that addresses a pain point or promises a benefit.

Keep Under 60 Characters

Google truncates titles around 600 pixels wide (roughly 60 characters). Titles cut off with "..." lose context and reduce CTR. Test shorter, punchier variants.
