Link Building
Scope outreach when editorial link acquisition is the appropriate next action.

External search evidence and priorities
An outdated company profile, a relevant editorial mention and a backlink to an obsolete page need different responses. I review how other sites represent your business, then separate corrections you can make from requests that depend on another publisher. The resulting off-page SEO plan connects external work to the pages and services your business needs to support.

I would start with the pages that matter to the business and review the external references leading to them. The inventory can include relevant backlinks, directory entries and company profiles. It records the source and the information shown, including which references your team can manage. A complete inventory of the internet is outside the scope.
Google uses links to help determine page relevance and discover pages. That supports reviewing where a link goes and the context around it. A total backlink count cannot tell us whether a reference describes the current business or sends someone to a useful destination.
For example, a profile may still describe a discontinued service while linking to your homepage. The proposed task would check the facts with your team, choose the appropriate destination and request the correction through an authorized contact.
Capture the source URL, business claim and destination. Keep observed information separate from an inferred search effect.
Identify profiles your business manages and references controlled by an external editor or publisher.
Prioritize a factual correction, destination change or relevant outreach proposal. Define the person responsible and the evidence needed.
Record what changed publicly and what remains a request. Review referral activity where measurement is available.
| Need | Appropriate work |
|---|---|
| Inconsistent external business facts | Prioritize corrections to relevant profiles or listings and identify the authorized owner. |
| Editorial link opportunities | Scope acquisition and outreach through Link Building. A publisher decides whether to include the business. |
| Search results affecting a brand's reputation | Review the issue through Online Reputation Management, with source ownership and response options assessed separately. |
| Questions about AI mentions | Define an AI SEO research scope. A mention or new link does not guarantee inclusion in an AI-generated answer. |
My current role is VP of Growth at Growing Search. For this service, I connect the external review to website priorities and identify work that needs a delivery team. Outreach through Growing Search is scoped separately, with its campaign work and results attributed to that team.
The agreed review produces a reference inventory, a prioritized action list and responsibilities for corrections or outreach. It needs your approved business facts and permission to access profiles involved in the work. Your website team may need to update destination pages before external requests begin.
Google's link spam policies prohibit links created mainly to manipulate rankings. The plan excludes that approach. Paid placements require appropriate link qualification, while editorial coverage remains the publisher's decision. A submitted request is recorded separately from a published change.
Off-page SEO here covers diagnosis and coordination of external references, including profiles and factual inconsistencies. Link Building is the acquisition and outreach scope. The review may recommend it, but a diagnosis does not mean an outreach campaign has started.
A profile your business controls can be updated with authorized access. For an independent publisher, we can prepare a supported request. The publisher controls its decision and publication timing.
This service does not promise acquisition quantities or search positions. Its deliverables are the agreed research and priorities. Any later campaign needs its own scope and reporting, including the distinction between requests and published references.
