Search measurement and interpretation
SEO keyword reporting with context for the next decision
A ranking screenshot cannot explain whether the pages you changed are reaching the intended searches. I establish what the report should measure, compare queries and landing pages within an agreed market scope, and document releases that affect the interpretation. You receive a repeatable report with definitions, evidence limits and a recommended next action, so the team can discuss the same numbers.

Definitions agreed before the first report
We define the source and scope for each measure. A rank sample and Search Console average position are different observations.
Reporting choice
What we agree
The decision
Which business or search question the report needs to help answer.
Page and query scope
The pages and query groups covered, including brand classification where the data supports it.
Market and device
Country, language context and device segments where available from the chosen source.
Comparison period
The date windows and available baseline, with any seasonal or tracking limitations.
Sources and ownership
Which figures come from Search Console, permitted rank samples or agreed analytics, and who maintains access.
Interpreting search movement at page level
A sitewide increase can conceal a loss on the pages that matter to the current project. The report starts with the agreed page groups and query scope, then compares their movement with the wider site where useful. A change in country or device mix can alter the total without showing improvement in the target market.
Search Console average position measures the average position of the topmost result for the grouping being viewed. It is not a fixed daily rank for every searcher. The report labels that measure and keeps a separately collected rank sample distinct, including its collection conditions.
A repeatable reporting cycle
1
Confirm definitions
Agree the question, segments and source for each measure.
2
Capture a comparable period
Retain the selected filters and date windows.
3
Annotate releases
Record publication, technical changes and known measurement changes.
4
Review the next action
Explain the movement and select a justified follow-up.
This is a proposed reporting cycle. It does not show measured growth, a customer dashboard or a promised result.
The report and the release record
The agreed handoff includes metric definitions and the comparison itself, supported by a dated interpretation. It identifies the pages or query groups requiring attention and states which checks could resolve uncertainty. The format and reporting frequency are agreed around your team's decision cycle, rather than assumed to require a new dashboard.
I separate completed work from live validation and the subsequent search response. A published page is an implementation event. A later change in impressions is an observation. The report can relate their timing, while keeping alternative explanations visible. Search clicks alone cannot establish that the work caused additional revenue.
Responsibilities for useful reporting
Francisco interprets the evidence
I define the search comparisons and explain which findings justify a response. My enterprise SEO background informs the attention to page ownership and release status, so an activity update does not become a performance claim.
Your team maintains business context
You confirm campaign dates and releases, provide permitted access, and explain commercial or tracking changes. If business outcomes are included, the responsible analytics owner validates the event definitions and source.
Ongoing delivery is scoped separately
The Growth Accelerator Team can be considered when reporting needs to connect to recurring implementation. A reporting engagement alone does not supply the development or content capacity to execute each recommendation.
If access, history or a stable query set is missing, the report states the limitation and the comparison that remains possible. Creating a baseline is useful work, but it cannot retrospectively establish an outcome. New topic discovery belongs in keyword research, rather than being hidden inside the reporting scope.
Common questions
Is keyword reporting the same as rank tracking?
Rank tracking can supply one defined sample. This service also connects the agreed query groups to pages, reporting periods and releases, with interpretation. We choose the sources and sampling conditions before treating a change as meaningful.
Can the report prove SEO generated revenue?
Search visibility measures do not establish revenue causality. If your analytics can support a defined business measure, it can be reviewed with its attribution limits. The report keeps that evidence separate from impressions, clicks and position.
Do I need a new dashboard?
The deliverable format follows the decision and the available sources. An existing reporting workflow may be sufficient. A new dashboard or integration is a separate requirement to assess and scope, rather than a default purchase.
What happens if rankings improve but clicks fall?
I inspect the affected queries and pages, along with the comparison periods and available market segments. The report records what the sources show and proposes further checks. That combination alone does not identify one cause.
